MOUNTAIN RESCUE – NATIONAL WATER CONFERENCE 2012

Although the weather on Saturday in Edale was rather wet and blustery it didn’t dampen the spirits of all those delegates who attended and enjoyed a feast of guest speakers presenting seminars and workshops on various subjects surrounding water & search rescue. These included Prof Mike Tipton, Lyle Brotherton, Gerwyn Lloyd, Chris Onions and Martin Bills who are all specialists in there field.

There were also contributions from individual team members including Andy Lee, Ewan Thomas and Al Read who are all active members of mountain rescue offering a wealth of experience in water rescue techniques and disciplines.

Safequip are grateful for the invitation to display a range of products and the opportunity to discuss equipment requirements with delegates from various teams around the country. In our opinion these types of events are invaluable for those who are either currently involved with water rescue or looking to introduce this operational capability in the future.

For all those who were involved with the arrangements for the conference and the volunteers who did a splendid job in keeping everybody fed and watered – well done to you all!

Success for Safequip @ Emergency Services Show 2011

Amongst all the doom and gloom which is dominating the news currently we are delighted to say that’s not the case here at Safequip. The recent Emergency Services Show held at Stoneleigh Park was a real success. People say it’s not the number of visitors, but the quality of the visitors attending, well at this years show we had both in abundance which is a real credit to all the effort put in by David Brown and his team who run the event.

With the launch of a number of our fantastic new products we were please to have received such amazingly positive responses from those who visited our stand and in particular to our new Responder drysuit (SAF10026) which we have recently supplied to a number of rescue services in the UK and overseas.

We would also like to congratulate our prize winners who all received a Streamlight 3XP LED/XENON torch following entry into our free prize draw.

If you are visititing this year’s show please take the time to visit our stand (57) which is located in Hall 2 near to the main entrance – you won’t be disappointed!

We will be holding a prize draw to win a Streamlight Torches so please remember to fill in the ticket to enter.

This year’s Emergency Services Show is probably going to be the most challenging ever, as organisations face a squeeze on budgets together with the impact that the current financial crisis is having on fundraising activities, particularly in the voluntary sector.

The good news is that here at Safequip we continue to develop new and innovative products with prices that won’t break the bank! 2011 is no exception as we launch a range of new products at this year’s show. These will include – our new water rescue helmets, wet weather gear, drysuits, inflatable rescue products and our recently upgraded Rescue Pro PFD which will all be on display for the very first time.

We are confident these new products will prove a great success with our customers who we believe deserve the very best equipment when faced with the challenges that no doubt come whilst operating in difficult and hostile environments.

Our continued vision is to deliver fantastic products at affordable prices, so that no compromises have to be made when it comes to saving lives.

Safequip are pleased to announce that they have been chosen to supply inflatable boats & trailers to Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue Service.

Following a successful application to DEFRA for funding, Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue Service has received grant funding to significantly enhance their flood and water rescue capabilities within the county.

After extensive trials the evaluation team led by Darren Stones made the decision that the package submitted in partnership with Specialised Inflatable Technology was the preferred option to meet their ongoing operational requirements.

We are delighted to have been awarded the contract and look forward to rolling out the supply of craft and accessories which will put Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue at the forefront in dealing with the serious dangers and problems caused by flooding in the future.

Safequip’s range of Water Rescue Equipment showcased at Australia’s largest Fire & Rescue Exhibition

FRSA had its national sales team at AFAC Conference 2011 - Australia’s largest fire and rescue exhibition which is held annually in varying locations around the country.

It was a huge success for FRSA who showcased some of the Safequip Water Rescue range; Gary Ashwood Managing Director said “the Safequip range is a very important part of the FRSA’s Swift Water / Flood Water Rescue package. Products such as the Safequip thowline and belt are rapidly becoming the benchmark for Australian emergency services”

TSAR members were asked to be on hand as the presenter’s rolled around the canal in giant inflatable toilet rolls in celebration of Canal week.
